7 Ways to Optimize Your Schedule

It’s easy to fall into the trap of leaving your schedule to chance—deciding what you’re going to do this week or month tomorrow, or even next week or month. Leaving your schedule to chance means that you’re not taking charge of your life and not making the most of your time. Instead, try these 7 ways to optimize your schedule, so you can make better use of your valuable time and energy every day.

Create a separate calendar for your bookings

Microsoft Bookings is an easy way to book and manage appointments with clients. If you don’t have a calendar that is not synced with Microsoft Bookings, it may be worth creating one just for your business bookings. To do this, go into the booking menu in Microsoft Calendar and click on the Create New Appointment button at the top of the screen.

When you are in the Add New Appointment window, choose a color that identifies your appointment type (i.e., yellow for weekly meeting), name your appointment, add event details (location, time), and check off which calendar you want to sync it with – like Microsoft Bookings!

Create Dedicated Appointment Slots

Creating dedicated appointment slots is a great way to keep your schedule efficient. Doing this will make it easy for you to allocate time for tasks, and it will also help you do better estimates of your daily capacity. You may want to consider dedicating specific days or times of the week for each type of client. This way, you can make sure that certain types are never on the same day at the same time.

Use an Online Calendar

Look for an online calendar with syncing capability. With this tool, you can sync your schedules from various devices so that there are no missing appointments. For example, Bookings’ integration with Office 365 ensures you’re never late for a meeting again. You’ll also want a calendar that can be accessed from any device or browser so that you always have access to your schedule wherever you go.

Add Tags & Location Information

Since school is getting out soon, we wanted to put together some tips on how you can make your summer the best summer ever. No worries if you need some ideas of what to do – just take a look at these 7 quick and easy tips.

  • Register for an event you’re excited about
  •  Get your car inspected or give it a tune-up for any upcoming road trips
  •  Go through your closet and donate anything that doesn’t fit, no longer suits your style, or doesn’t get worn
  •  Brush up on math skills using sites like Khan Academy
  •  Spend time outside with family
  •  Explore creative activities like painting, music lessons, or cooking
  •  Spend time researching new things

Maintain Appointment Descriptions

Microsoft Bookings allows you to save your appointments in calendar view, so you can have a look at what’s coming up in the next week. This lets you adjust or add appointments on the fly without entering too much information. The best part is that Microsoft Bookings will remind you 15 minutes before your next appointment so that there’s no chance of forgetting.

1) Create a basic template for each client e.g., waiting room times, consultation time, haircut time and type it into Excel or Google Docs spreadsheet cells.

Stay Organized on Mobile Devices

Make it easy on yourself with this easy-to-use app! Bookings syncs seamlessly across all of your devices, so no matter where you are you can make changes or see what’s coming up next. This will help you stay organized and get things done.

Integrate Your Google Apps Account

With the introduction of Google Apps, you can use your G Suite account to synchronize calendars with Microsoft Bookings. Once this is set up, updates that you make in Google Calendar will automatically update in Microsoft Bookings. You won’t have to spend time keeping both accounts up-to-date when changes are made. You can sync as many or as few calendars from your G Suite account.
